CHOOSE CITÉ SAINT-PIERRE, A HAVEN OF PEACE

The Cité Saint-Pierre, Secours Catholique’s welcome center in Lourdes, offers accommodation to pilgrims in precarious situations, enabling them to make the most of their pilgrimage.

PEACE SILENCE PEACE

La Cité Saint-Pierre is a haven of peace in the heart of the Pyrenees, just 1.5 km from the Lourdes Sanctuary.
A 35-hectare estate, where unspoilt nature and the sobriety of the built heritage combine to offer an ideal setting for rejuvenation.

This serene setting is the perfect escape from the daily grind, allowing you to refocus in an environment of evangelical beauty.

A built heritage

Each building is designed to blend in with the surrounding natural landscape. The six accommodation pavilions offer a setting adapted to the needs of pilgrims.

The forecourt, at the heart of the Cité Saint-Pierre, is a real beating heart, a place for meeting and sharing, where pilgrims, visitors and volunteers meet and exchange ideas in an atmosphere of fraternity.

Places of worship reinforce its spiritual character, such as the Chapelle Sainte-Bernadette, a living symbol of the Cité Saint-Pierre’s historical roots in the history of Lourdes, and the Cathédrale de Verdure, a majestic open-air prayer amphitheatre.

A community of volunteers

The spirit of charity is lived out on a daily basis thanks to a community of volunteers.

Committed to the various services, they give of their time and energy in the service of pilgrims.
Their presence, discreet but essential, embodies the values of fraternity and mutual aid so dear to the City of Saint Peter.

 Testimonial from Anne, volunteer :

“La Cité Saint-Pierre is a green setting nestled above the Lourdes Sanctuary.
Here, people wishing to come on pilgrimage can put down their luggage, their worries, but also their hope for a few days, the time to get back on their feet, to draw strength.

“A magnificent setting, surrounded by mountains and tall trees, benevolent smiles, fraternal encounters, evenings of sharing and a sign that greets us in the parking lot: “Peace, silence, peace” – it all smacks of humanity and is good for the soul.

The heart needs hands

Cité Saint-Pierre was created to enable pilgrims in precarious situations who cannot afford hotel accommodation to take part in the pilgrimage to Lourdes.

All requests are carefully considered by our team.

Out of season, we also welcome associations, diocesan pilgrimages and church movements. In this case, a contribution is required to enable us to welcome pilgrims in need.
